Letters from Fans
2001
Foreword from Butch:
"Mahalo" means "thank you" in Hawaiian, but cannot adequately express my gratitude to the nice people who have taken the time to send me compliments about my music or performance. Mahalo no ("Thank you very much")!

Good morning, Butch,
I am just a beginner at the use of computer; but I was able to log on to your website. It is marvelous.
Reading some of your letters from your fans, I, too, got chicken skin when you mentioned that you sang Wind Beneath My Wings. I heard Bette Miller sing this song on one occasion after the horrible tragedy of 9/11.
I told you that you are full of life and so did your other fans. You are gifted and God made you to have peace. Wish there were more saviors like you.
Mahalo again and for sharing your website with us. Have a G'Day (using this expression because my daughter, Kennette, was living in Australia for 13 years and now back home with us.)
Until we meet again.
Aloha,
Frances Lum Young

We just wanted to thank you for the wonderful entertainment you provided us during our stay last week on the SS Independence. You meet so many people, that you may not remember us. Jim and Judy -- Jim was a "man of few words" and Judy never had a request though you asked every evening. But we did really enjoy your playing of "Walk Don't Run". We thoroughly enjoyed all of your music and the comfortable atmosphere you shared with us at your shows. We came every night, except the night we went to the Luau. We felt that we had met a kindred spirit. And we were sorry we could not stay longer and get to know you better the last evening of our cruise, but we had to pack.
We will support your "sharing the gospel" in our prayers. We enjoyed your newsletter and will continue to remember you and your music with our tapes. It will always remind us of the spirit of your islands. We really understand why you stay so close to home. Someday we hope to return, and we would like very much to be able to hear and meet you again.
God has blessed you with the gift of music, voice and hospitality. Thank you for sharing with us. And may God continue to bless you with health and happiness.

I just went on your website and found another CD that I am interested in purchasing. "Sailing with Aloha, Beneath Alaskan Skies With Butch", if you could send us that one along with Butch Sings Hawaiian, we will mail you a check for $40. Thanks Butch, Mahalo, Sharon and Mike Morgan. After reading your newsletter I don't want to get too personal (1), but your music is great!!!
I have played your CD live at Waikiki about 6 times and I never get tired of hearing you sing... so soothing to listen to and you have a terrific voice. I went to your website today and got to listen to a few of the other songs on your other CD. I keep playing "My Way" over and over... I can't believe that I never requested you to sing that song, I love it... Our youngest daughter who sings also does Somewhere Out There, Somewhere Over the Rainbow and Wind Beneath my Wings...I love that CD! You for sure have 2 new Fans. I noticed your schedule is to be on the USS Independence until Sept 22... We are planning another cruise I think in March 2002... Holland America. Do you ever sing on any other cruises except Hawaiian cruises? I am in no hurry for your CD's, I would love to have one of the new ones. We also listened to the Christmas CD... So good!! Take care, keep up the good work. We look forward to seeing you sing again sometime.
Mahalo,
Sharon and Mike

ALOHA! Wherever you may be tonight, Butch, we wanted to take a moment to thank you for letting us be with you a couple of weeks ago as we sailed around Alaska. The weather was perfect and we greatly enjoyed your company. Joanie as always is fun to be around and the two of you complement each other. We will sail again with you in the future, and wish you the very best that life has to offer. May the good Lord always keep and watch over you, where ever you may be.
